Vision

The University of Saint Anthony's library finds ways of developing effective and collaborative partnership with the faculty, students and administrative staff to be able to meet their diverse information, research, educational and recreational needs.


Mission

The Library of the University of Saint Anthony participates in the research and educational programs of the university and directs activities to the fulfillment of certain functions such as selecting, acquiring, organizing, preserving and conserving books and other instructional materials of contemporary interest and value for the education and intellectual stimulation of the entire students, faculty and administrative staff and to provide easy access to the collection through retrieval of tools and appropriate information services.


Goals

  1. To provide library materials and services that are responsive to the needs of the USANT community and ensure their maximum accessibility and expeditious resources.
  2. To provide pleasant, safe, accessible and well-maintained building and facilities which enhance the use of the library's resources.
  3. To develop and maintain an effective and committed staff to the provision of quality service.
  4. To facilitate easy access to library collections and services and improve the efficiency of library operations through the application of automated systems in the years to come.

Objectives

The University library program is an integral part of the educational program of the University, since its basic objective is to aid the institution in carrying out its program in order to provide quality education. The measure of its excellence is the extent to which its resources and services support the institution’s objective. The library contributes to the realization of this objective by acquiring and making available the books periodicals and services needed in the institutional program. To accomplish this, the following objectives are adopted:

  1. To select acquire, organize and provide library materials the will enrich and support the curriculum and personal needs of the users/clientele, taking into consideration their varied interest, abilities and learning styles.
  2. To provide library material that will stimulate growth in factual knowledge, literary appreciation, aesthetic values, and ethical standards.
  3. To each formally and informally the use of books and other sources of information.
  4. To provide background information which will enable students to make intelligent judgments on their daily lives;
  5. To coordinate with the faculty and supply their needs on instructional materials;
  6. To place principle above personal opinion and reason above prejudice in the selection of materials of the highest quality in order to assure a comprehensive library collection appropriate for users/customers.
  7. To supply the information of customers.

Library Hours

Monday to Friday 7:30 A.M. – 5:30 P.M.
Saturday 8:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
Noon Break 12:00 NN - 1:00 P.M.

Library Guidelines

  1. Students should be in proper school uniform with I.D. when entering the library.
  2. Students shall present their mini-handbook with picture and color coded which serve as a borrower card when borrowing books and other materials in the library.
  3. General Reference such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs, atlases and others shall be read only inside the library.
  4. Theses and Dissertations should be read inside the library.
  5. Reserve books for overnight use may be borrowed at 4:00 P.M. and be returned at 8:00 A.M. the following day. Failure to return on time, the borrower shall be charged a fine of 1.00 per hour.
  6. Fiction books/Circulation books maybe borrowed for a period of three (3) days. For failure to return on time, the fine shall be P1.00/day.
  7. The borrower shall be responsible for the loaned book in case of loss or damage and shall be required either to pay or replace it upon the arrangement with the librarian.
  8. Stealing or willfully destroying, cutting, tearing or in any way damaging books, pamphlets, periodicals or any part thereof shall be subjected to serious disciplinary action.
  9. Silence shall be maintained in the library. Failure to observe this rule shall be subjected to serious disciplinary action.
  10. Faculty should be the one to borrow reference book.
  11. Loss of books should be replaced with the same title.
