Top Stories | “Accountability is not limited only to business, it must be applied in our daily lives. We should be accountable for everything we do,” says Atty. Santiago D. Ortega, Jr., the president and chairman of University of Saint Anthony (USANT) in his keynote speech during the international webinar titled “The Importance of Accountability as One of the Essence in Business Sustainability,” which was jointly hosted by USANT College of Accountancy (COA) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton (UBM) in Indonesia, on February 24, 2021 via Zoom.

Dr. Wa Ode Alzarliani, SP. M.M., the Rector of UBM also graced the event with her keynote speech. The three-hour online discussion covered an array of topics on business and accounting, which were delivered by some of the highly competent faculty members of both universities.

Dewi Mahmuda, SE.,M.A. Acc. And Hastuti, S.E.,M.M., lecturers from UBM, focused their talks on ‘Accountability for Sustainability and Public Financial Management.’ From USANT’s end, the Dean of USANT-COA Mrs. Jennifer A. Mendoza, CPA, MBA and one of her faculty, Mr. Roland Neo Delhi E. Bona, CPA tackled on the areas underscoring the ‘Role of Accountants in Business and Corporate Social Responsibility.”

The event aimed to educate the business students about some of the significant topics in their field, and as well as to serve as a symbolic activity to cement the partnership of USANT and UBM.
